Research Description

As part of the Numerical Relativity group at Penn State, we have the common goal of using massively parallel computers (either clusters or supercomputers) to solve Einstein's equations of general relativty for very complex spacetimes (such as those involved in the collision of two black holes), and to ultimately have a realistic, dynamic, and stable simulation of such events so that we can predict what types of gravitational radiation might be emitted from such sources.
